During a trip to Korea, I visited a rural village and took ​portraits of the local residents. After adding some light ​color adjustments, I printed the photos and gave them as ​gifts. As people age, their confidence in their appearance ​often diminishes. Yet, studies show that having photos of ​oneself can positively impact mental health, even helping ​with depression.

With this in mind, I hoped to help the elderly see ​themselves in a new, beautiful light through their ​portraits. I still vividly remember the striking ​contrast between the timeless, unchanging village ​scenery and the deeply wrinkled faces of the ​elders, reflecting a life where time seemed to have ​passed too quickly. That juxtaposition remains with ​me to this day.

Did you know all photos in this website was from me! What I ​appreciate most about photography is how it’s changed my ​perspective. Everyday sights like the sky, my neighborhood, or ​familiar streets now look beautiful when I imagine capturing them. ​Through the camera’s lens, even ordinary moments hold joy, offering ​me an escape and helping me see the world’s beauty more clearly.
